“A Rogue Trader’s dynasty is built on the ambition of his ancestors, be they dreams of glory or nightmares of failure.”
~Wielding the Warrant: A Tale of the Void
“The open void is where fortune is found.”
That is what the late Lord-Captain Marius Aegius was often fond of saying. Indeed, the masters of the Aegean had often found riches beyond their wildest dreams in every corner of the then undiscovered sectors, far from the reach of Holy Terra. They, of course, lost it all in the mad schemes of a deluded and power-hungry ancestor.
Once again, the scions of the once great house have regained a fraction of their lost fortune upon the discovery and looting of the legendary lost treasure ship, the Righteous Path. Six months have passed since the clash with Hadarak Fel and the reputation of House Aegius has only grown with time.
Perilous adventures await the Explorers, the Aegean, and it’s crew; imperial worlds in rebellion, rampaging xenos, and pirates lurking unsuspectingly. With every new challenge brings treasures and even greater fame.
While fame is the calling card of all nobility, all Rogue Traders learn eventually that not all treasures should be plundered. Sometimes these lessons have a very treacherous learning curve. Warnings go unheeded because fortunes must be had. The greed of mankind knows no bounds, be it sparkling gems, crystal swords from the Egarian Dominion, or knowledge from the depths of the Black Library.
However, it is all hearsay and myth, like Whispers on the Storm.
